Last year as part of the PRALER, communities, scholars and activists came together to learn about the issues facing grassroots activists in Ghana under the March 2023, Ghana In Planet Repairs Action Dialogue (GIPRAD) activity.
Community engagement:
^ GCEPRA has continued campaigning in 2024 promoting Planet Repairs through popular education engagements, canvassing community events, and liaising with key communities working on Planet Repairs to grow the wider Ghana In Planet Repairs Action Dialogue (GIPRAD) platform by engaging with civil society and other groups.
Intercultural dialogue:
^ GCEPRA members of the Ablodenunyansa Communiversity promoting intercultural dialogue for indigenous rights during Easter festivities. Through traditional cultural arts, communities discussed how cultural rights can be preserved during different faith festivities.
Traditional Authority:
^ GCEPRA and GIPRAD members also have engaged the Traditional Authority of Abutia to share Planet Repairs Action proposals about the issues of potential lithium mining in the Abutia area. Around the world, in places like Colombia and Chile, indigenous communities have organised themselves to reject bad deals to extract Lithium and harm local communities.
The engagement emphasised the imperatives of widening Global Citizenship Education to understand the prospects of alternative development for the communities.
Solidarity:
^ GCEPRA members sent a delegation to express solidarity with Bishop Mante Diocese in support of his bold position against environmental destruction and Planet disrepair.
The Most Rev. Bishop Mante, the Catholic Bishop of Jasikan has been outspoken in his campaigns against iron mining and environmental destruction in the Oti region, as well as has recently called for legal amendments to promote transparency and accountability at District Assemblies. He recently also challenged the “abusive self-enrichment” of public officials.

Schools and youth:
^ GCEPRA is continuing to promote the need for true global citizenship for youth and schools. GCEPRA activists are continuing to support the UNESCO - Glocal Green Eco-Clubs to provide alternative pathways for education in school and empowering Planet Repairs Action for young people.

Workshops:
^ Communities engaged in GIPRAD continue their call for fair, free, and peaceful elections and supports the Planet Repairs Internationalist Observatory observing of the Ghana Electoral process.
PRALER CC, and PRIO Secretariat member today organised an orientation about the Planet Repairs Internationalist Observatory and the importance of global citizenship education in building capacity to exercise the constitutional right to free elections.
The workshop highlights also the importance of law-related education, and learning from democratic processes of communities.
